The Clean Eatin' Food Co-op uses 100,000 kWh (100 MWh) of electricity per year. The members believe in renewable power as an important part of the seven cooperative principles. The Co-op board decides to purchase 100 REpower Credits for $25 each to offset 100% of their energy consumption. The credits are a business asset and the Clean Eatin' Co-op can promote itself to its members as 100% powered by renewable energy.
